Rescue Me ID: 16-04-23-00142Grace (female)
This is a long shot and we know it. Grace was in an abusive home and then when her people moved out they left her to live on the streets. By eye witness accounts she was living that way for two years being fed by an elderly lady. Grace is terrified of everyone. She will very possibly always be afraid. She has come a long way since being with me for the last year but always be timid. She must go to a very patient single person or couple and there can be no children in the home. No kids and absolutely no small dogs or female dogs EVER can be in the home with her. She must also be in a home with an inescapable yard. If you feel that you have the patience to help a mentally scarred dog please let us know. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-04-22-00337Apache (male)
Apache was born 11-8-2015. He started out not so good.... He is a parvo survivor. He was surrendered to the rescue with his brother because they were ill. He is a healthy active puppy now. He has been fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and his adoption fee will include a Maricopa County license if applicable. He is great with other dogs. He has no aggression at all. He loves kids, squeak toys, walks, and really just everyone and everything. He has a great personality and would be a great addition to any family.

Rescue Me ID: 16-04-13-00449Abby (female)
Abby was one of our pups form an unplanned breeding. Her father was a purebred Leopard Catahoula Hound that we purchased from a breeder in Louisiana. She is almost 5 years old, very sweet loving temperament, settles down quickly loves to be inside but has been an outside dog for most of her life. Unfortunately because she has been outside a lot, she likes to dig. Her mother was a stray that came up to our ranch that we rescued (still have her). She was born and raised on the ranch until she decided to chase the adjacent rancher's cattle, he threatened to shoot her the next time he caught her so we moved her to our home in Mesa. Our ranch caretaker at the time did not property discipline or train her when she started this bad habit. Other than digging (I think if she had one on one attention and was in the home more she wouldn't dig) and chasing cows she has no other issues. We are selling our home in Mesa (downsizing into townhouse type), I still have 2 German Shepherds and her mother. We have 2 Great Pyrenees at the ranch, 15 horses, 2 goats, 2 cats, chickens. We are animal people and I just want to find her a good loving forever home, she has been with us since birth almost 5 years ago. She would make a wonderful companion for an older person or couple (60ish not 80ish) but also good with everybody. She weighs about 60 lbs. (Less)

He has been raised so far with big dogs, small dogs, cats, young children, men and women. His only fear is of new people at first but warms up quickly!!! His adoption fee which includes all the above vetting and care is $300 (but if you're super in love call Katie, she's a softie for a forever, she gives deal if you adopt 2!!) (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-03-29-00730Frost (female)
Frost is a purebred catahoula hound. She is a very unique and beautiful color for her breed. We have had her since she was 7 weeks old and we hate to have to make the hard decision to get rid of her...unfortunately her and my other dog Jess go at it all of the time and it's only getting worse as they both get older. Frost currently has a scratch on her eyebrow because of their last altercation. I have to do what's best for both of them. She has only known our 1.5 acre lot in San tan valley. She has been around horses, goats etc. she does good when supervised but her breed is to hunt so leaving her unattended with prey animals isn't the best bet. She LOVES other dogs, especially fixed males. She NEEDS a huge yard. She has always had that and she would not be a good inside dog full time. She is still a puppy (11 months old) and has some maturing to do. We have taken her out a few times to the dog park and she is Skittish and wary of other dogs in weird environments but at home she loves any dog that comes over and is the first to greet them! :) we will be very picky for Frost's new home...she is NOT fixed yet. We were waiting to do it at 1 year old and she has had her first heat cycle about a month or two ago. Please only serious loving homes...price is OBO to ensure you can afford a dog and will take care of her. Thank you. 480 544 6442 my name is Brittany. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-07-12-00279Toola (female)
Toola is a BEAUTIFUL 5 year Catahoula mix. Our girl was recently in a loving home for 3 years, but due to hardship her family had to give her up. Toola is housetrained, playful, well-mannered and sweet as can be. We don't know if she has been around cats but Toola would do well with a non-dominant dog. Our girl is up to date on vaccines/spayed/micro-chip and ready to find her furever home. Toola's adoption fee is $100.00. http://2ndchance.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=7892968

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-13-00025Merlin (male)
Merlin is a 4 year old Catahoula/Shar Pei Mix who loves being outside and having his bummy scratched! Merlin was turned in to Maricopa County Animal Care & Control as stray and was placed on the euthanasia list for being human aggressive. A sweet boy that was bummed to be in the pound, knew sit and shake and rubbed up against the chainlink fence for love, we would have never guessed. Merlin is completely potty trained and crate trained. We are still working with him on a leash and a few other manners. He adores being outside and would stay out all day if it were up to him. He doesn't think he's a lap dog, which is good at 92 pounds! But he does like attention. He seems fine with other dogs of any size but hasn't been tested with cats. Due to his rating, we would only be comfortable with Merlin going to an adult-only household. Merlin is a great boy and is ready for a family to call his own! Merlin is neutered, current on Rabies, 4-1 and Bordatella vaccines and is microchipped. His adoption fee is $100. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Catahoula in Arizona
Catahoula Dogs can make good pets in Arizona if they match your IifestyIe. The Catahoula, or Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog, is an intelligent, loyal, and territorial breed. Catahoulas are affectionate with their own families but intolerant of strangers. Catahoulas need a lot of time and attention from their owners and are best matched with people who have experience training intelligent dogs. A Catahoula that is left alone and ignored may become aggressive or destructive. Early socialization is imperative, especially with children. Catahoulas are very physical and need a lot of exercise. Some can adapt to apartment life while others cannot; the safest bet is a home with a large fenced yard or open land.
