How beautiful is Kudra? At only 10 weeks old her and her sister were found wandering the streets of Houston. Her fate changed when they hopped on a Colorado bound transport. Kudra is now enjoying the puppy life in her foster home. Kudra was the skinniest puppy we brought into SCDR. She has been chowing down and is getting to a healthy puppy weight. She is living with another dog and a young child. Kudra loves them both! She is doing great with housetraining but can't wait to start puppy obedience training. With proper positive training, Kudra will grow into the perfect companion (not that she isn't already!). Kudra will thrive in a house ... (Read More)with a big backyard! We think she would love a family to go camping or hiking with on the weekends. She is a very smart, food oriented girl so we think she will learn fast. It is important that whoever is lucky enough to adopt her understands the time and commitment it means to adopt a puppy! You truly get what you put in and Kudra deserves someone who is dedicated to ensuring a positive future. Kudra is very friendly and greets everyone with a wagging tail. We can't wait to see whats in store for her! If you're interested in adopting Kudra please email us at Thanks! (Less)

Catahoula Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Kiko is very sweet dog who adores everyone she meets, but unfortunately has found herself without a forever home. She is very playful with other dogs, and would enjoy having a doggy companion. She has lived in peace with cats too. Kiko can stay in the house alone without a crate, but is also happy to spend some time lying in the grass out in the yard. She can be an active running or hiking (even off-leash) partner, but is also content to hang out with her people. Her beautiful coloring brings a lot of attention, and her gentle temperament is a joy to have. Kiko has one minor special need. She needs her dry dog food soaked with water ... (Read More)until it is soft and mushy, or she needs to be fed canned food mixed with water. If she eats hard/dry food, she will regurgitate it. Kiko comes fully up to date on all veterinary care. She recently received all vaccines/negative heartworm test/ and fecal test. She is also micro-chipped. Kiko has an adoption fee of $50.00 that will go directly to ARR for their rescue expenses. PIease Read Before Adopting a Catahoula in Colorado
Catahoula Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. The Catahoula, or Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog, is an intelligent, loyal, and territorial breed. Catahoulas are affectionate with their own families but intolerant of strangers. Catahoulas need a lot of time and attention from their owners and are best matched with people who have experience training intelligent dogs. A Catahoula that is left alone and ignored may become aggressive or destructive. Early socialization is imperative, especially with children. Catahoulas are very physical and need a lot of exercise. Some can adapt to apartment life while others cannot; the safest bet is a home with a large fenced yard or open land.

lnteresting Catahoula Trivia Low-Cost Colorado Spay & Neuter Clinics
Catahoulas only need to be bathed about twice a year. Catahoulas are probably descended from the Nordic Wolfhound. Vikings would have brought Catahoulas' ancestors to the New World hundreds of years before the Spanish arrived. Teams of Catahoulas were once used to control feral pigs. Catahoulas are especially well suited to boar hunting.
