Daisy is a very sweet and loving girl that was an owner surrender, she was left alone with the cat and she killed the cat. She had been around this one and other cats for a long period of time, it is unknown what really happened to cause this action. She is great with adults and kids and all sizes of dogs. She is three years old, spayed, microchipped and up to date on shots. She is house, crate and doggie door trained. She loves to play and would like another dog to play with. She would make a great addition to an active family of her own.

ATTN: CANNOT BE ADOPTED IN CO, AS THEIR LAWS ARE TOUGH ON SMALL RESCUES. LONG DISTANCE TRANSPORT OPTIONS TO ADJOINING CLOSE STATES.. WILL DISCUSS AND CONSIDER. OWNER SURRENDER: Owners input below. ( Bodi was adopted by the owners at 4 months old . He weighs 60 pounds. Bodie) is a highly intelligent, curious dog who needs daily vigorous exercise, mental stimulation, and affection. As long as he gets enough of those things, he does great being left alone in the house for up to 8 hours when necessary (usually 5-6 hours is the norm). In the 3 years we've had him, I can count the times that he has chewed or destroyed something on 1 hand. He has ... (Read More)never scratched doors, gotten into the trash, or chewed up shoes - amazing! Bodi also does well in the car and on road trips. He's great about staying in the back of my station wagon, even when left alone in the car (when weather appropriate of course!) Although he is a very spunky and energetic dog, he's actually quite mellow at home, as long as he gets his morning exercise (30 min running or 45-60 min walking) and two or three 10-15 minute neighborhood walks during the day. Since we live in a townhouse, Bodi has never gotten to experience the gift of having a yard. He will be in absolute heaven if someone with a yard adopts him (but Catahoulas want to with their people so we do not sanction them becoming yard dogs who are left unsupervised for long periods.. they get lonesome and bored and they find a way to get your attention. Bodi is friendly to everyone we allow into our home, although he jumps up a lot on visitors, (this can be worked with. we are behavior Specialists and give unlimited help) especially those who aren't 'dog people'. He has been great with all of Alex's friends, but I would be cautious around small children and babies. He could be easily overwhelmed. Probably no to small tots. He has a few dog friends that we hike with and he does great with them. But he is selective and can be reactive with certain types of dogs, especially those that exhibit fear and aggression simultaneously. The biggest challenge with Bodi is his leash reactivity and the hyper-vigilance that he exhibits near our house and around the neighborhood. He has been very leash-reactive when walking with my husband or me, but is much less reactive when my son walks Bodi. And when we are not on his neighborhood 'turf' he is much more relaxed. However, due to Bodi's personality and physical strength, we are extremely careful about allowing him to interact with other dogs or people when we're out on walks. I believe that this issue could be resolved if Bodi had a stronger 'leader' that had more time and motivation to work with him on breaking his focus and redirecting his attention. I have worked with him quite a bit on this but have fallen short on consistency and have not put in the time required to correct this issue. Janeen can do what most trainers and behaviorists cannot and gives unlimited help successfully. She will work you through any issues. I have recently separated from my husband and am not able to care for Bodi in the ways that he needs in order to be happy and thrive. I work full time and am away from home 8-10 hours a day. Although we have a dog walker that helps out in the middle of the day, Bodi is a dog that needs an owner/ leader that has more time to play and actively work with him. This has been a long and difficult decision for me and my son. Bodi is an amazing dog, and I'm praying that the right person or family will find him and experience the love, affection and joy that he has given to us. (ADMIN NOTES) Long distance adoptions can be highly successful. We will screen for commitment. There is more in a longer bio about Bodi and an adopter will be speaking with owner and Janeen. This is a good boy.. he just needs the right home with real leadership, not a boss or trainer. Once we get your app we will give you more info on Bodi. He is worth checking out. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Catahoula in Colorado
Catahoula Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. The Catahoula, or Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog, is an intelligent, loyal, and territorial breed. Catahoulas are affectionate with their own families but intolerant of strangers. Catahoulas need a lot of time and attention from their owners and are best matched with people who have experience training intelligent dogs. A Catahoula that is left alone and ignored may become aggressive or destructive. Early socialization is imperative, especially with children. Catahoulas are very physical and need a lot of exercise. Some can adapt to apartment life while others cannot; the safest bet is a home with a large fenced yard or open land.
