Rescue Me ID: 18-06-16-00095Bashful Bandito (male)

Catahoula Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bashful Bandito is a very handsome Catahoula mix male that is just a year old and yet has the calmness and wisdom of a great soul. This wonderful dog has earned this description because he is so good. He is just a year old and only 45 pounds although he looks beefier. He is a hunka hunka burnin' love in our book and he shows it in every way when you meet him. He adores attention and will sit and offer to do whatever you tell him if he is worked with a little. He is pretty close to being housebroken, and if given an environment of consistent house privileges he would show you just how GOOD he can be. He is wonderful with other dogs and ... (Read More)IGNORES THE CATS! He is happy, easy going and just a well-rounded, solid soul of a dog. He is good with children. J Bashful Bandito is shy at first but warms quickly. He would be a great running partner, hiking trail backpacker, beach comber and join you at the apple orchard celebration kind of dog. He is a handsomely marked beefcake that will give you a lifetime of pure joy and what we ALL long for in life'|.. unconditional undying love. These days you find it most consistently coming from a dog. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Catahoula in Connecticut
Catahoula Dogs can make good pets in Connecticut if they match your IifestyIe. The Catahoula, or Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog, is an intelligent, loyal, and territorial breed. Catahoulas are affectionate with their own families but intolerant of strangers. Catahoulas need a lot of time and attention from their owners and are best matched with people who have experience training intelligent dogs. A Catahoula that is left alone and ignored may become aggressive or destructive. Early socialization is imperative, especially with children. Catahoulas are very physical and need a lot of exercise. Some can adapt to apartment life while others cannot; the safest bet is a home with a large fenced yard or open land.

lnteresting Catahoula Trivia Low-Cost Connecticut Spay & Neuter Clinics
Catahoulas only need to be bathed about twice a year. Catahoulas are probably descended from the Nordic Wolfhound. Vikings would have brought Catahoulas' ancestors to the New World hundreds of years before the Spanish arrived. Teams of Catahoulas were once used to control feral pigs.
