It's a Boy!! Milo is an adorable and wiggly 4 month old catahoula mix with the prettiest color pattern. This boy is going to make his FOREVER family very happy. SouthBARK is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization working hard to rescue unwanted dogs from kill shelters and the streets along the Gulf Coast of Northwest Florida and South Alabama. Because we do not have a facility and we are all volunteers, all monies raised can go directly to where it is needed most- the dogs' care. From intake through adoption, all SouthBARK dogs and puppies are seen by one of our preferred veterinarians for dewormings, vaccinations, diagnostic testing, ... (Read More)medical treatments, microchips and spay/neuter. While we understand there are ways to do things cheaper, it is our desire to provide excellent medical care to our rescued animals. The adoption fee is $200 for adults and $250 for puppies under 6 months. All cats and kittens are $75. All cats, dogs and puppies are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and are spayed/neuteted. http://form.jotform.us/form/50296064689163? Part of that process is a veterinary reference check. All dogs and cats in the household must be up to date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, and dogs must be on heartworm prevention . If you do not have a pet and thus have no veterinarian, please list a personal reference who does not live with you. Once the vet reference check is complete, we will make contact with you to discuss the rest of the adoption process which will include a home visit where a team member will meet each member of the family and check your home and yard for safety and security purposes. Our adoption fee is $200 for adults and $250 for puppies under 6 months, which includes spay/neuter, microchip, shots up to what is appropriate for age, and treatment for any medical condition or injury preventing adoption. Catahoula Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Male Dogs Only, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Obese

Due to a break up of our family, I have to move and can no longer keep Klowii. She is a great dog who loves attention and love. She is overweight and needs some additional activity. She loves to sit in the yard in the sun and chases squirrels. She gets along with male dogs and cats. She is fantastic with slightly older children (7+). She does have anxiety challenges when she goes to the vet, I have to muzzle her to take her. I really want to see her go to a good family that will love her and take good care of her, she deserves that.

Symba is one of the happiest and most lovable dogs I've ever had the pleasure of having as a pet. Although he a large dog, he is still but a puppy, only about 9 months old. Unfortunately, our financial and residential stability has decreased drastically within the past few months. Pet-friendly housing is no longer available to us, and living out of cars and motels is no way for a dog to live. We have built up so much love for this dog and cannot bare the thought of impounding him so I'm hoping this message reaches someone who can provide love, bones and a place to run around for this amazing dog. He is friendly with other dogs, cats, and ... (Read More)even children. He knows and respects his limits with smaller animals and is a very good boy. (Less)

She is friendly when meeting new people. If there is another dog in your home a proper introduction and meet n greet would be a must for her. We can have our dog trainer/volunteer assist with that. PIease Read Before Adopting a Catahoula in Florida
Catahoula Dogs can make good pets in Florida if they match your IifestyIe. The Catahoula, or Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog, is an intelligent, loyal, and territorial breed. Catahoulas are affectionate with their own families but intolerant of strangers. Catahoulas need a lot of time and attention from their owners and are best matched with people who have experience training intelligent dogs. A Catahoula that is left alone and ignored may become aggressive or destructive. Early socialization is imperative, especially with children. Catahoulas are very physical and need a lot of exercise. Some can adapt to apartment life while others cannot; the safest bet is a home with a large fenced yard or open land.

lnteresting Catahoula Trivia Low-Cost Florida Spay & Neuter Clinics
Catahoulas only need to be bathed about twice a year. Catahoulas are probably descended from the Nordic Wolfhound. Vikings would have brought Catahoulas' ancestors to the New World hundreds of years before the Spanish arrived. Catahoulas are especially well suited to boar hunting.
