|Rescue Me ID: 17-03-27-00074Chewbaka (male)|
Chewbaka is a brindle Catahoula Mix. He is half human only because he is so intelligent and learns quickly. He is very obedient and submissive. He is house trained and great with kids. He is our only pet but is very socialized and does great with other dogs. He is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. He is high energy. A fenced in large yard or on a farm would make him one happy pup. He is a great companion and loves to be loved on and cuddled. He is an inside dog but loves to play catch with toys and run outside.

|Rescue Me ID: 17-01-01-00103Heeler (male)|
Logan is a very loving and intelligent, he gets along with the cat that lives in Logan's current foster home along with 2 heeler. Logan has been introduced to working with cattle and has strong instincts in this area. He idoes need more work and training in this area. Logan is housebroken, quick learner. Logan does have a form of fear based aggression that appears to come from a lack of socialization and the amount of time he has spent in the shelter. Logan has been doing better with being introduced to other people, nuzzle first.

Catahoula Dogs can make good pets in Kansas if they match your IifestyIe. The Catahoula, or Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog, is an intelligent, loyal, and territorial breed. Catahoulas are affectionate with their own families but intolerant of strangers. Catahoulas need a lot of time and attention from their owners and are best matched with people who have experience training intelligent dogs. A Catahoula that is left alone and ignored may become aggressive or destructive. Early socialization is imperative, especially with children. Catahoulas are very physical and need a lot of exercise. Some can adapt to apartment life while others cannot; the safest bet is a home with a large fenced yard or open land.
