Catahoula Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Vaccinations Current

Hi my name is Jasmine!! I am a 2 year old female Catahoula mix. I am a stunning sweet girl that weighs around 65 lbs. I love to be scratched and loved. I enjoy playing with my foster brothers and sisters ( kids 2&5, and dogs) and toys. I am potty trained, crate trained when my foster family leaves for work and know how to sit. My foster mom has been working on not jumping because she says I'm too big, but knows I will learn this skill very quickly. I could use some basic manner training because I am a big girl, but I listen VERY well and am eager to find my forever home :)

Catahoula Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Personality: High Energy
Health: Vaccinations Current

Meet Violet. She is a 10 week old Boxer/Catahoula mix .She is a very playful and energetic girl! She loves to run around and play with all of her toys. She has lots of energy that she is ready to use the moment she sees you! She's always looking for attention and is quite the talker too! She's very curious and not shy, and loves giving kisses. She'd be great for an active or high energy family with time to give her the attention she loves! She may do better as an only pup as she gets jealous easily and plays a bit rough with her litter mates.

Rescue Me ID: 18-05-28-00149Hope (female)

Catahoula Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Vaccinations Current

My name at DDDR is Hope, but I currently answer to Bailey. I'm told I am a Catahoula Leopard mix, because I have a really cool crystal blue and brown eye on the right. I am sweet, affectionate, crate and house trained. I love people, especially the little ones. I play great with other dogs, but since I love to chase squirrels soooo much, I might be a little too much for a cat. I am willing to walk on a leash, but I will pull, a lot. I currently live with a woman who loves me a whole bunch, and she has awesome grandkids that play with me all the time. I am very athletic and can jump pretty high, so my people gave me a five foot fence so I ... (Read More)won't leave on my own. And I have lots of energy so I need to romp in the yard a few times a day so I'll chill when I'm inside. Everyone I know loves me, so I am a pretty happy girl. Sadly though, I have a dog sister who's lived here longer than I have, and she is having issues living with another girl. Go figure. I know my people mom is going to be really sad, but she wants me to have a better home. Maybe you have one? (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-03-01-00257Crash (male)

Catahoula Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

Crash is a love bug who needs to be in a home where he can be the only baby. He is just as happy snuggling up on the couch to watch a movie as he is going for a nice long run. He knows how to sit, stay, whisper, high five, lay down, and give paw. He has been doggy door trained and kennel trained (we call it his house and as soon as you say 'do you want to go to your house he runs right in'). His tail goes a mile a minute the second you start to say the words 'good boy', he will jump up to give hugs if you pat your stomach to give him permission, and he always shares the covers. He gets along great with his big brother (yellow lab), Buddy, ... (Read More)but unfortunately he doesnt not get along with the neighbor dogs or the household cat. He would do best in a home where he can be the spoiled and sweet only baby, with attentive parents! Crash would come with a care package for his future parents that would include some of his favorite toys, his walking gear (snoop loop head collar, vest, etc), and his food/ treats. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Catahoula in Maryland
Catahoula Dogs can make good pets in Maryland if they match your IifestyIe. The Catahoula, or Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog, is an intelligent, loyal, and territorial breed. Catahoulas are affectionate with their own families but intolerant of strangers. Catahoulas need a lot of time and attention from their owners and are best matched with people who have experience training intelligent dogs. A Catahoula that is left alone and ignored may become aggressive or destructive. Early socialization is imperative, especially with children. Catahoulas are very physical and need a lot of exercise. Some can adapt to apartment life while others cannot; the safest bet is a home with a large fenced yard or open land.
