|Rescue Me ID: 17-10-16-00002Rufus (male)|
Rufus is a super sweet guy once he settles in and gets comfortable. He's been bounced around quite a bit in his life and it does take him a bit longer to open up and show his true personality but once he does you'll fall for him for sure. He's a fairly active guy that needs to go for his daily outing whether it be a nice walk, jog, bike ride, or hike. He's a good boy in the house but will let you know if he's not getting enough exercise (he'll pester you until you give in and bring him for a walk)he's quite the goof. He comes off as a tough guy but is really quite a mush and is super afraid of fireworks, gunshots in the distance, any loud scary noises really (he seeks comfort and tends to be super clingy during thunderstorms).Did I mention he loves but scratches! He is good with most large dogs and is living with two foster sisters, he does seem like he maybe prefers males more but it really depends on the dog. Due his high hound prey drive he is not good with small dogs. The one big snag up he has the is causing him to be overlooked is he can be an escapee. This can be worked with and I think if he got the exercise and stimulation he craves it would help a ton. Working with a trainer would not only help you and him learn but it will also help the two of you bond. He's also good with kids but would be best with kids 8 and up because of his exuberance for life. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-10-06-00501Django (male)|
Django is a 3 year old brindle mix, weighing 45 lbs. He does well with all other dogs and is very well mannered. He rides wonderful in a car, needs a little bit touch up on the potty training but he is not to far off. He loves to snuggle and will curl up in your lap if you let him. He is a very calm and affectionate guy. He was impounded as a stray at a high kill shelter and had a horrible skin condition due to flea allergy which caused him to lose almost all hair. It grew back nicely and he made a full recovery. DO NOT FILL OUT AN APPLICATION ONLINE! Only via e mail are you able to receive the proper forms. IMPORTANT: Django is located in GA. We do not have a shelter in MA or any other northern state. We are a rescue organization located with our dogs in Georgia. We do NOT have a shelter in MA but have weekly transport available for our pups to relocate up north with their new forever families. Since a meet and greet is not possible prior to adoption, our adopters make their decision to adopt based on pictures, videos and talking to the foster parent. The adoption fee is $ 375 which includes transport cost, health certificate, all vaccines, heartworm test, neuter and micro chip. (Less)

Catahoula Dogs can make good pets in Massachusetts if they match your IifestyIe. The Catahoula, or Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog, is an intelligent, loyal, and territorial breed. Catahoulas are affectionate with their own families but intolerant of strangers. Catahoulas need a lot of time and attention from their owners and are best matched with people who have experience training intelligent dogs. A Catahoula that is left alone and ignored may become aggressive or destructive. Early socialization is imperative, especially with children. Catahoulas are very physical and need a lot of exercise. Some can adapt to apartment life while others cannot; the safest bet is a home with a large fenced yard or open land.
