Rescue Me ID: 14-10-17-00752Baby Girl (female)

Catahoula Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

Hello, I recently rescued this beautiful girl that was being neglected. She was left outside tied up 24/7 and forgotten about. :( Her name is Baby Girl and she will be turning 5 next month. Her name fits her to a tee... She is spayed, utd on shots, micro-chipped, and currently on heartworm/flea meds. (Sentinel). She weighs around 65-70 pounds. When I rescued her I had to reintroduce her to the outside world. She has been abused and was very fearful of men especially. I am a dog trainer and I have been working with her a ton and she has come a long way. She will need to go into a home that will make her a house dog and will have the time and ... (Read More)patience. She is house trained and kennel trained. She knows how to sit, down, shake, and walks well on a leash. She can jump a 4 ft fence so she must go out on a leash at all times if you do not have a fence. She is a huge cuddlebug and loves to give kisses. She has been around children and does well but she tends to want to herd them into one spot lol, so she would do better in a quiet home with older kids. Please DO your breed research on a catahoula and a border collie. I will continue to help with the training free of charge when she finds her forever home. She does fine with other large dogs but at times tends to be the alpha female with the other females, and she loves cats. Does great for her baths and nail trims. She also LOVES to smile!. I have come a long way with her and I only want the best and she deserves the best. Her rehoming fee is $100. Please be prepared for a lot of questions. If you are interested in meeting her, please respond to this ad and I will get back with you as soon as I can. Thank you and have a great day! ;) (Less)

NEEDS A NEW HOME TODAY!!!!! Bud is a very sweet boy. I was told he looked like a hunting dog. He cant be around cats. He gets along with some of our other dogs. He seems to get along better with dogs smaller then him. He isnt aggressive. He seems to be the one picked on if the other dog is bigger. He is house trained, but he prefers to be outside so we put him in when there is bad weather. If you try to keep him inside or locked in a pen, he barks non-stop. He has been a good warning system if something or someone is on the property. He has figured out how to dig and go under a fence. He is now tied to a tree with a 25 ft lead. Wanting to ... PIease Read Before Adopting a Catahoula in Missouri
Catahoula Dogs can make good pets in Missouri if they match your IifestyIe. The Catahoula, or Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog, is an intelligent, loyal, and territorial breed. Catahoulas are affectionate with their own families but intolerant of strangers. Catahoulas need a lot of time and attention from their owners and are best matched with people who have experience training intelligent dogs. A Catahoula that is left alone and ignored may become aggressive or destructive. Early socialization is imperative, especially with children. Catahoulas are very physical and need a lot of exercise. Some can adapt to apartment life while others cannot; the safest bet is a home with a large fenced yard or open land.

lnteresting Catahoula Trivia Low-Cost Missouri Spay & Neuter Clinics
Catahoulas only need to be bathed about twice a year. Catahoulas are probably descended from the Nordic Wolfhound. Vikings would have brought Catahoulas' ancestors to the New World hundreds of years before the Spanish arrived.
