We met at a local dog park walk and introduced her current puppy to Dexter. They got along great. We are now in the process of transitioning Dexter to live with Kay and my heart couldn't be any happier. She was literally the FIRST person to contact me about him and I had many follow.�%A0 I can't thank Rescue Me enough. Thank you so much for making it possible to find my baby a wonderful new home.

     My daughter's two-year-old Catahoula Heeler, Brody, has just been adopted by a very nice dog-loving couple with a cattle ranch with 40 head of cattle! Brody had been dwelling in the city and he had a yard, but the ranch will give him the opportunity he needs to run and play and do what he was designed to do - guard and herd animals. We could not have asked for a better outcome or for a better home for Brody. Our prayers have been answered! Thanks, Rescue Me!

     Jack and his brother were surrendered. I posted both boys on Rescue Me and immediately I began getting messages from potential adopters. Jack's brother was adopted by a wonderful, semi-retired couple who drove down from Oregon to adopt. They send me pictures of him from state parks and he is so happy. Jack stayed with us a little longer and in that time, we just could not part with him. We decided to adopt him ourselves!! He is a wonderful addition and already so loyal. Rescue Me has given me the confidence to step in and help get other dogs a forever home!!!

     After a very rough start to life then spending a few months with us, this little girl named Reese got to start a new chapter in her life! A very sweet lady drove over six hours to adopt her and give her an amazing life. She will be living as an indoor/outdoor dog on a five acre ranch with another pup, horses, kitties, and most importantly a loving couple that will love her for life. We could not be any happier with how things have turned out for miss Reese and are truly grateful for Rescue Me for connecting us.

     Buddy is now a spoiled 'only child' of a retired couple. This couple had always had a larger breed dog and were ready for the challenge that Buddy might bring. However, he seemed to understand what was expected in this home and hasn't caused any trouble at all. He crates himself in the evenings and is even socializing with the older cats. One thing that he has started doing in his new home is 'talk'. He never tried to communicate with fosters, but in this home, he has started talking. They say he is asking to go outside and asks for treats too. Maybe it is just that his forever home is listening! Great home! Thank you, Rescue Me.

I found her on the road to my house with blistered feet, smelling like she'd been living on cow 'pies' for days. I had never met a Catahoula, and after doing some research thought that I'd post her on this rescue site. The very next morning, I had two responses! She is now in a fantastic situation with a lovely lady who has not only had Catahoulas before, she drove across the state to pick up her new friend. Thanks to those of you who support this site and to the number of people who wanted to take Pepper home! My faith in humankind healed in one corner of the wound a bit today.

We are extremely grateful because without a re-homing program like this, it would have been very challenging to find such a great match.      I am so happy Rescue Me was here. I found that beautiful little girl and posted her in hopes of finding her home. But as I was told by so many and didn't want to believe she was probably dumped. After having her posted on every lost and found board, and with all the places anyone would look I have to agree she was dumped. But, the best news is she has been adopted and will soon live in a bed and breakfast, greeting people as they come and go, with 17 acres to run. The owners have owned one like her before, so they know her unique breed. Thank you for being there to post her and get her a great home.

     Our Ginger found an AMAZING home. A family was looking for a dog that would fit into their family of two children and an older dog (Hendrix) that they had. Hendrix met a lot of dogs in their search, but none jived with him. When he met Ginger, it was love at first sight. Ginger fit right into the family and immediately knew the doggie bed that belonged to her. Hendrix, the gentleman that he is, taught her to use the doggie door. Ginger lives with a family where the father works at home as a personal fitness coach and so Ginger gets loving all day long by the family and clients alike. Ginger says, 'Thank you Rescue Me! I found my happily ever after.'

     Tiny was named that by the children in the family. His family got two littermates and realized that two puppies and two small children were a bit tough when trying to teach all four at the same time. Everyone felt it was best for Tiny to be the special dog of a household. He needed that to blossom. When his new Dad first did the meet and greet, Tiny, who was a bit shy with strangers, warmed up to him right away. Before long, they went on a nice walk together and his new dad, Alan, got big, slurpy kisses while giving Tiny tummy rubs. It was THE MATCH and it is what we always want to see- the connection against all odds. That connection that binds the fur friend with the human friend like it was always there. Tiny has someone to play ball with and hike with and he will be growing up into a great friend no doubt. The family who said goodbye to him was sad, but they will be able to hear how he does and he will get the special treatment they weren't able to give him. Tiny is HOME. Thanks, Rescue Me.

     Brin is with a family who really appreciates her! She was found tied up in the woods, came to us at Rescue Ranch from the county animal control. She was adopted by a woman that truly cared for her, but Brin's energy level and athleticism was a bit much for her new person to handle. The evaluators from the National Search Dog Foundation tested Brin a couple of weeks ago and she passed their first tests-but ultimately as her estimated age of about three, she was too old to start their program. Within a week, her new family contacted us (from about 600 miles away) and by the end of the week they had driven down, met her and headed back home with Brin happily riding along in their truck. We have had several updates from her new home where one of her people is excited for a younger running partner (Brin's doggie house mate is over 10). We heard that Brin is helping her new person pick up the pace on their daily runs. We are all so happy for a loving girl that just needed to find someone to appreciate and channel her energy and intelligence. Thank you Rescue Me for helping this be a great success for Brin!

     Hi Jeff, Many many thanks for creating this wonderful website! We picked up a stray that turned out to be a Catahoula. The owners never came forward, and we unfortunately couldn't keep him because of compatibility issues with one of our other rescue dogs. We spent weeks trying to find a local foster/adopter with no luck, and I refused to take such a precious loving animal to animal control where he likely would have been put down or possibly used as a bait dog. A friend referred me to Rescue Me and I'm so glad! Within days of posting the dog on here, I had multiple people contact me, one of whom decided to adopt! It was so fast and easy. If we ever come across another stray without a home, I will definitely be using this site again. It was another wonderful confirmation that we did the right thing, loving animals (even strays) are worth it, and it is possible to find a loving home!

     We are very happy with the results we got on Rescue Me! We have been looking for a more appropriate home for our dog - one with a family that had some acreage and possibly a friend. Our home did not have much of a yard and with our work and school schedules we were not able to give him enough exercise and we felt this made him unhappy. We found a lovely family with the right type of property and schedule to give our sweet dog a perfect home. We do love him, so this was a difficult decision.      My husband and I took in two strays that were wondering our court. We took them to get checked for chips and they had neither chips nor tags. We then went the 'old school' route by putting up flyers and calling vet offices, and shelters to get the news out that we had them if they were in fact missing. It seemed no one was looking for them, but they were so sweet and smart that we just didn't have the heart to dump them at a shelter or animal control where they might be put down due to 'space.' Two days after we found them, I found Rescue Me and holy cow! In two days time, one of them had a home and a day later the other did too! We were able to meet both families who are spoiling them and loving them as we speak! It was such a blessing finding this amazing site to help these amazingly sweet dogs. We can't save the world, but we can make a difference in the lives of the ones when the opportunity presents itself. Thank you, Rescue Me!!!

     Lucy, a Catahoula and Pit mix I have had in my rescue for over a year was placed in her permanent home today! She had a play buddy named Baewoof, an eight month old Newfoundland. They LOVED each other immediately. She will have all the love in her new, forever home! Thank you, Rescue Me.

     The three beautiful puppies were taken by DCI, which is the state prison that is in our town. They have an adoption program for dogs that need to be adopted. They also do dog training.      We rescued Petey last summer, and he was adopted by a wonderful family. A few months later, due to family and dog dynamics, Petey needed to be rehomed. We contacted many rescues to try to get Petey some exposure, but the ST Furever and SE Catahoula rescue groups were the only ones that responded and offered assistance. The organizer immediately put Petey's story on their site & Rescue Me. Petey was finally adopted by a fabulous family who saw him on Rescue Me and contacted us right away. We cannot thank the ST Furever, SE Catahoula and Rescue Me rescue groups enough for caring about this great boy.

     We recently started looking for a new family member. We had lost our beloved Murphy of eight years on May 31, 2013 and had decided we did not want another pet ever. It was very heart-breaking when he passed. So one day out the blue I started searching for puppies on the internet without the knowledge of my spouse. I went to a lot of sites and checked out lots of pets on these sites. I notified the lady who had our 'Lily' and we tried to hook up, but the darn weather kept us from getting together a couple of times. So I went to several shelters and rescues closer to Sedalia (she was three hours away). When my spouse found out about what I had been doing he started searching as well. He fell in love with Lily and her sister Minnie online. So we once again contacted Lily's caregiver and finally we met her. Her sister Minnie had gotten adopted the very day we went to see Lily. We fell in love with her and brought her home that day. She is already so much a part of our family. My grand kids (all 6 of them) love her and she loves them. She is playful with them and never aggressive at all. She loves to be loved and we could spend every waking moment loving her. Thanks to Rescue Me! my family and my newest family member are extremely happy. We really needed her to be in our lives as much as she needed a forever home.

     My one year old Catahoula mix pup Lainey found a new home within days of being posted on Rescue Me! I feel very excited for her because she will get the care and attention that I, due to medical problems, was having trouble giving her. I was sad to see my sweet, beautiful girl go but I know that this is the best thing for her. Ironically, she went to a family with a little boy named 'Chase' and one of her favorite pastimes was to play 'chase' with my nephews.      Thanks to Google, I found Rescue Me! Our dog Lassie, a rescue from Virginia, was very old, and passed away last month. Our dog Buddy, rescued at a truck stop, was sad and sulking after that, and obviously missed her. We missed her, too. We found Rescue Me!, and found Mocha a loving and lovable puppy. The lady I contacted was extremely nice and helpful. She gave us a profile of the dog and many suggestions, explained very clearly the adoption policy and stages.      Thank you, 'Rescue Me!' Last night we had a call from a couple who found our posting of the remaining two Catahoulas we rescued...they were found abandoned near our neighborhood, starving and pitiful. With the care of our local vet they were rehabilitated and readied for adoption. Today we delivered them to their new 'FOREVER HOME,' adopted by a wonderful couple. They now have love and kindness, room to run, plenty of food, the company of other sociable animals, and a wonderful future in store for them! It is wonderful to have this link to other like-minded people concerned about the welfare of animals. This was truly an incredible, gratifying, and hope inspiring experience for us. Now all three of our deserving Catahoulas have been placed in a wonderful situation. Thank you again, Katherine & Richard

     Hi Jeff, We have found the perfect dog for our family through your rescue site after searching for several months. I had subscribed to the Catahoula rescue for Georgia and Alabama but found our girl just a few miles from our home! She needed a new family because her previous owner couldn't care for her any more. Now he can come visit her and we have a wonderful addition to our family. Last weekend we took her to North Georgia to introduce her to the mountains. She was really in her element and I think we actually tired her out after running loose in the pasture for hours. Then yesterday we introduced her to the Piedmont Park dog park and she out ran every dog in the park. Catahoulas are just wonderful dogs. This one is a Catahoula/pit bull mix. She's very smart and wants to learn. We're looking forward to many happy years. Thanks again for your website, Betty

     Good afternoon, Jeff, Fortunately, Torre was adopted, and I have this website to thank! I took in Torre as a foster after her previous family lost their house due to foreclosure, and was forced to move into a rental house that did not allow pets. My husband and I already had three indoor pets, so we set a deadline to find Torre a home or take her to animal control and hope for the best, of September 22. Meanwhile, a lady in Ohio had lost her Catahoula after being hit by a car several weeks ago. It was very important to her that she rescue another dog, and she preferred to rescue a Catahoula if she could find one nearby. She found Torre's listing on this website and fell in love. We talked several times on the phone and arranged a meeting yesterday, and it couldn't have gone better. They had an instant connection, and even though we lived six hours apart, I felt it was meant to be. Thanks so much for helping sweet Torre find a home! I know she's in good hands, now.      Jeff, Cheyenne found a wonderful home. The perfect home. I had several inquiries from this site, and luckily for Cheyenne the first contact ended up being the perfect fit. She is now a happy little girl 'running in the wind through the field' of her new 12 acre home. I could not have picked a better couple to be Cheyenne's new parents. We met at a half way point for each of us so they could meet Cheyenne and I could meet them. I was feeling so guilty for giving her up but my heart is full knowing she will be so much happier where she is. I want to thank you for having this site for responsible pet owners to either find homes for those in need or for those looking to give an animal a new start in life.
